Life is a journey filled with twists and turns. No one knows that better than Rob Wilkes. In May 2013, Rob decided to follow his passion in coaching, however, shifting his focus from college basketball to the financial world. As an Adviser, Rob is committed to being a financial coach, guiding his clients in wealth management and business transition, educating them along the way. Rob is also our firm’s retirement plan coordinator and chief marketing partner.
Rob grew up in Deland, Florida where his father, Glenn Wilkes, had a 36-year career as head coach of the Stetson University Hatters, amassing a school record of 552 victories, landing him a place in the College Basketball Hall of Fame. Naturally, Rob would follow in his dad’s footsteps, coaching Division I college basketball for over 20 years, inspiring young men to strive for success and overcome challenges both on and off the court. Throughout those years, Rob’s teams made numerous NCAA Tournament and NIT appearances, including the NIT Final Four at Madison Square Garden.
Rob attended Stetson University, where he completed his undergraduate degree. He also earned his Masters in Professional Studies from Lynn University. Rob holds his Series 6, 7, 63, & 65 licenses held by LPL Financial.
Rob remains active in the community. He is the head coach for Norfolk Academy’s junior varsity boys’ basketball team and an ardent supporter of Old Dominion University Athletics.
Rob loves spending time with his three lovely children Johnny, Finley, and Talan and his fiancé Christie. He also enjoys golf and watching basketball (or any sport for that matter). He splits his time between our office in Virginia Beach and Jupiter, Florida.
